Day 1 - Overnight Freight S.L. Umberyard Cabin or The Majestic B&B
Arrive in Leadville and check into your accommodations. In the evening we’ll meet up as a group at a local restaurant for dinner (not included). We’ll enjoy getting to know each other and make any final plans before we start our hike tomorrow.

Day 2 - Overnight Uncle Bud’s Hut - B, L, D
This morning we’ll load up and head to the trailhead. The hike to the hut is approximately four miles along the Colorado Trail with an elevation gain of about 1500 ft. Check in time is 1 pm so we’ll start our hike sometime mid morning. Upon arrival at the hut we'll make lunch, settle in and everyone can choose how they'd like to spend the rest of the afternoon. Perhaps hike a bit more or build a fire in the outdoor fire pit and enjoy the views. Dinner will be prepared at the hut in the evening. 
 
Day 3 - Overnight Uncle Bud’s Hut - B, L, D 
Today we will do some day hikes. Depending on your desire and abilities, there are several options. A group may hike north farther along the Colorado Trail, some might want to summit Galena Peak at just under 13,000 ft. There are also options to go fishing at nearby lakes or just exploring around the hut. We'll take turns preparing meals while at the hut.
 
Day 4 - Overnight Freight S.L. Umberyard Cabin or The Majestic B&B - B, L
Today we’ll make breakfast, pack and clean up before hiking the 4 miles back to the trailhead where we left the vehicles. There’s an option to leave our packs in the vehicles and do another hike up to Timberline Lake, an additional 4.5 miles round trip. Or, you may opt to drive back into town. In the evening we’ll meet up at a local restaurant for our last dinner together (not included).
 
Day 5 - B
After breakfast it's time to head back to the Denver Airport for your flight home. If you choose to stay an extra day or two, Two Dog Travel can schedule an activity for you. Perhaps whitewater rafting, fly fishing, more hiking or a boat ride in Twin Lakes to the historic Interlaken Resort site. 

AIRPORT - Leadville is approximately 2 hours from Denver International Airport, 1 hour 15 minutes from Vail Eagle Airport and approximately 2.5 hours from Colorado Springs Airport. Most people will be flying into Denver. Two Travel will help coordinate sharing rental cars, if anyone is interested. 
 
Meals while at the hut - We will all share cooking responsibilities while at the hut. Before the tour, Two Dog Travel will group people in twos or threes to be responsible for one meal. The group will give an ingredient list to us and we will do the grocery shopping ahead of time. This will be a fun way to get creative with ingredients that are easy to pack and carry. Two Dog Travel has a list of recipe suggestions for anyone who might like a bit of inspiration. 
 
Two Dog Travel has reserved the entire hut for our group. We will be the only ones staying at Uncle Bud's for both nights.
