Tour Description
Day 1 - Overnight in Zagreb - D
Welcome to Croatia! After arriving into Zagreb International Airport, you’ll be met by your driver and transferred to the hotel. Depending on when your flight arrives, there is a chance your room won’t be ready, however you will have the opportunity to store your luggage at the hotel and explore Zagreb a bit on your own. Your tour director will be available to give suggestions on things to do. In the evening, we willl meet up as a group and enjoy a welcome dinner where we will toast to new friends and our adventures ahead.
Day 2 - Overnight in Zagreb - B
After breakfast, we’ll meet our guide for a walking tour of Zagreb. We’ll visit some of the highlights such as the Cathedral, St Mark’s Church with its beautiful roof, and the Gric Tunnel. We’ll also experience some of the hidden gems that only a local would know. After our tour, you’ll have free time to explore the city on your own. Perhaps you’ll decide to visit one of the unique museums of Zagreb such as the Museum of Broken Relationships, Museum of the 80s, or the Museum of Unfinished Art. Or, you could visit the Museum of Contemporary Art or perhaps try the Chocolate or Mushroom Museum. Zagreb is full of both traditional and unusual museums worth visiting.
Day 3 - Overnight in Split - B, D
After breakast and checking out, we will make our way to the beautiful Plitvice Lakes National Park. Here we’ll start together as a group and visit the lakes will a local guide. After the tour, you’ll have free time to visit other parts of the lakes on your own and grab some lunch before we continue on to Split. After checking into our hotel in Split, we’ll enjoy dinner as a group at a local restauarnt.
Day 4 - Overnight in Split - B
We’ll begin the day with a tour of the old town and the UNESCO-listed Diocletian’s Palace. We’ll learn that the Palace isn’t a traditional museum but rather covers the majority of the Old Town. We’ll visit the its underground cellars and learn their history, the Cathedral of Saint Domnius where we can climb the tower for its views, as well as other parts of the city. After the tour, you’ll have free time to explore a bit more on your own. Perhaps you’ll choose to climb or bike Marjan Park, where you can explore the forested trails and go up to the Telegrin viewpoint. You could also walk the promenade, stop for a drink and enjoy local life.
Day 5 - Overnight on the boat - B, D (tapas)
Today we’ll check out of the hotel and store our luggage before taking a short ferry to the nearby Medieval town of Trojir. You’ll have free time to explore this beautiful town and grab lunch before taking the afternoon ferry back to Split where we'll grab our luggage and transfer to the “Croatia,” our home for the next five nights. Upon embarkation, we’ll meet our crew of five and be greeted with drinks and tapas. The captain will discuss the plans for our time on the boat followed by a relaxing evening on the water.
Days 6-9 - Overnight on the sailboat - B, L or D
The next five days will be spent exploring the gorgeous coastline and surrounding islands. We’ll have the opportunity to visit small island villages, swim, kayak, SUP and snorkel in crystal clear waters and basically relax on the boat. Our itinerary will depend on the weather and the interests of the group. Possible stops could be Milna, Hvar, Korcula, Brac, Lastovo, Maslinica and Vis. It’s sure to be one of the best parts of the trip.
Day 10 - Overnight in Dubrovnik - B, L
This morning we'll disembark the sailboat and continue our journey by land. As we make our way to Dubrovnik, we’ll stop at a beautiful local winery. Here we’ll learn of the wines of the region, enjoy a tour and tasting along with some small bites. You’ll soon understand why the terroir of this area is perfect for growing grapes. After we arrive in Dubrovnik and check into our hotel, you’ll have the rest of the day to explore the seaside paths, relax on the beach or take advantage of the amenities of the hotel.
Day 11 - Overnight in Dubrovnik - B, D
Today we’ll start with a visit to Old Town Dubrovnik where we’ll explore with a local. We’ll learn of the history of this beautiful part of Dubrovnik and visit some of the highlights. You’ll then have some free time to walk the walls of the Old Town, if you choose, do some shopping and grab lunch. Next we’ll take a ride up the cable car to marvel at the views over the city and sea. The evening will be spent at our Farewell Dinner where we’ll toast to our fun times, new friends and plan our next adventure.
Day 12 - B
Unfortunately, it’s time to say good by to beautiful Croatia. After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the airport according to your flight times.
