Day 1 - Overnight in Lusaka - D
Welcome to Zambia! On arrival at Lusaka International Airport you will be met by a driver and transferred to our local hotel where you can relax after your long flight. Later in the evening we will meet up as a group for our welcome dinner.

Day 2 - Chula Island Camp - B, L, D

After breakfast, we’ll transfer to the airport for our first game drive/chartered flight to Jeki where our safari guides will meet us to take us to Chula Island Camp in Lower Zambezi National Park, our home for the next four nights. While offering all the luxuries you could wish for, this is a true seasonal safari camp. You'll love being a part of this amazing area in Africa. Upon arrival, we'll enjoy our first lunch in the bush before heading out for our evening safari drive.

The Chula tents are very comfortable - high quality linens and mattresses alongside flushing toilets, running water taps and traditional heated bucket-showers. There is a main area stretch-canvas tent set beneath massive Natal Mahogany trees that makes for an exceptional location for meals, reading, charging electronics and wildlife watching. (Remember - this is a true seasonal safari camp.)

Day 3-5 - Chula Island Camp - B, L, D

Our next three days will be spent in Lower Zambezi Park with some of the best big game viewing in all of Africa. Large herds of elephants roam the valley floor, along with buffalo and impala. Importantly, all of the large predators are in the area including the lion, leopard and wild dog. Chula Island Camp offers a variety of safari activities including canoe and walking safaris. We will also enjoy boat safaris on the Zambezi river with its crystal clear waters as we search for hippos.  We'll experience traditional jeep game drives as well. We'll have the opportunity to enjoy night game drives and search for the elusive honey badger and aardvarks (among other local animals).  For an extra fee, you may choose to try your hand at fishing the elusive Tiger Fish. Imagine trying your luck while accompanied by hippos and elephants! Another special experience is a River Lunch where we can tip our toes in the river as we enjoy a BBQ lunch as we watch the hippos swim.  Truly feel one with the bush!

Day 6-9 - Musekese Camp - B, L, D

After breakfast we'll transfer back to Jeki airstrip and board our game drive/chartered flight to Lufupa. Here we'll be met by our safari guide and head to Musekese Camp, our home for the next four nights. Located in Kafue National Park, this brand new camp is equipped with all of the luxuries you might want in a true safari camp, including en suite bathrooms with on-demand hot water showers!  Kafue National Park is abundant with wildlife, including the sable, hartebeast, zebra and puka by the thousands. Are you into birding? If yes, this is the place to be! Kafue is known for its abundance and variety of birdlife. These four days will  be spent enjoying river and walking safaris as well as traditional game drives. You'll also have the option of visiting the Musekese Conservation NGO Research Centre - here you will learn about the work they've been doing in the Kafue National Park. Some of the projects center around an Anti-Poaching Unit - essential to help protect the amazing species that live in the area and engaging the local communities to train and employ them to help with habitat restoration. They specialize in training and empowering local women to get involved in safari guide training and other local initiatives.

Day 10 - B

It's time to leave our (home away from home) in the bush and return to everyday life. After breakfast, we'll transfer back to Lufupa to catch our game drive/charter flight to Lusaka International Airport in time to catch your flight home. You are sure to return with amazing memories of the new friends made, both fellow travelers (and especially our local guides - these are special people you will never forget).  â€‹
